Learning to pause in the midst of stress, busyness, or a crisis is a journey, not a one-stop destination. It’s a journey with many starts, stops, and a retracing of steps. It’s also a journey well worth the effort.
The Idea
To encourage women and provide them tools to combat stress and anxiety through thoughtful articles, journaling prompts, the beauty of nature, and more.
The Art of the Pause
The start of this journey is learning to pause, to be still, and slow down enough that you can look up and look around and not be so focused on the next item on your to-do list.
Learning to Pause is what you build upon to take you to the next phases of Reflect, Create, and Grow.
The Journey
Pause: First you pause and realize you are not where you want to be. You know that things need to change. It’s only when we actually pause and identify a need can we start to make changes in our lives. Learning to pause helps you slow down long enough to lift your head up and look around, it’s then you can take stock of where you are right now.
Reflect: Next you reflect on what is working right now, and what isn’t. What lessons are you learning? What areas of your life would you like to change? What dreams and ideas have you forgotten about and let go of?
Create: Now it’s time to create a plan of what habits need to change, what skills need to develop, and what dreams need to be nurtured and cared for?
Grow: Now it’s time to put that plan into action. Grow as you learn more about who you are. Grow in your faith. Grow in confidence. Grow as your creativity is nurtured and cultivated. Grow in relationships. But also give yourself grace. Growth is hard, it takes time. Don’t overwhelm yourself, start small and take the next step in faith.
