Ep. 40 – 3 Questions That Won’t Help the Multi-passionate Entrepreneur Find Business Clarity

Do you ever feel lost in the sea of possibilities as a multi-passionate entrepreneur?

Do you struggle to find clarity and direction for your business amidst the myriad of interests and ideas swirling in your mind? If so, you’re not alone.

Finding clarity as a multi-passionate entrepreneur isn’t about fitting into a prescribed box. It’s about understanding the patterns and themes that make you, YOU.

The Selah Entrepreneur Podcast - Episode 40 - 3 Questions That Won't Help the Multi-passionate Entrepreneur Find Business Clarity

Today we’re diving into 3 questions that just won’t cut it for multi-passionate entrepreneurs:

Question #1: Describe Your Ideal Day

This question can help you find a vision for the type of day you would like to have in your business, but it rarely helps you find clarity and direction.

As someone who likes ideas and trying new things, the answer to this question often depends on the day, week, or season. Constantly changing with new creative projects on the agenda.

Question #2: What Did You Want to Be As a Child?

I wanted to play outside with my friends, play sports, and I really loved airplanes and helicopters. As an adult, I can look back and see how much I loved many things. I see my multi-passionate self forming.

Can this question give us a few clues? Oh yes, but finding clarity and direction? Probably not.

Question #3: What Did You Learn From Taking _________ Personality Test?

While I love a good quiz or personality test, there wasn’t one that gave me the answers I was looking for.

Traits or habits that help you develop as a person? Sure, but gaining clarity and direction? No one test helps those of us with interests and ideas all over the place find the answers we are looking for.

So what do we do instead? How can we take these basic questions and make them work for us?

Instead of dismissing these common questions outright, let’s approach them from a different angle.

Instead of relying on single ideas or generic answers, we need to go through our answers or personality test results and identify recurring themes, and reflect on childhood aspirations to uncover hidden patterns and clues.

When we reframe these questions and look for common threads, there are valuable insights to be found and aha moments to be had.

The Power of Asking Better and Deeper Questions  for Multi-Passionate Entrepreneurs

The journey to finding clarity as a multi-passionate entrepreneur is one of deep thinking and a willingness to go on an adventure of self-discovery.

Recognizing your uniqueness and reframing it as a strength rather than a limitation, by diving into your personality test results and journaling about the recurring themes, you can cultivate a deeper understanding of yourself and your entrepreneurial tendencies.

Embracing your unique skills and abilities allows you to carve a path that aligns with your authentic self and harness the full potential of your diverse interests.

Your Homework:

Go look at those personality tests that you’ve taken and pull all those quizzes. Look through the results and start looking for:

  1. Repeated words from each test.
  2. Common words and themes in the descriptions of all your personality test results.

Then spend some time asking the following questions and journaling your answers:

  1. What’s jumping out at me?
  2. What am I seeing is a common thread that I have never noticed before?
  3. How do I feel when I look at those quizzes, and what have I done with them and haven’t done with them?

When we take the time to look at results like this, pull out those themes, and then ask better and deeper questions that get you below the surface. The answers you find can provide you with some major aha moments in your entrepreneurial journey as you’re looking for clarity and direction for you and your business.

Remember, your multi-passionate nature can leave you feeling confused and like a misfit. It’s time to accept that having interests and skills in so many areas is a gift that fuels your creativity as an entrepreneur.

Embrace it and lean into it as you peel back the layers of confusion in your clarity journey. Listen to the full episode or read the transcript the link is below.
